Competition in Marketing

There is a lot of competition in marketing between competing companies. In order to assure that your marketing campaigns are successful over your competitor you must conduct research. You should figure out who your competitors are, what their strategies are, and what their weaknesses are in order to take advantage of them. There are a few strategies you will have to go up against. These marketing strategies can either be a tactic used against you or one that you use yourself in order to promote your product.

Conventional Advertising
  • Media advertising ranging from radio to the internet
Sponsorship
  • Any sponsorship program such as sports, music, or art
Unauthorized Activities
  • Using logos and specific trademarks from your company to connect to a specific product or service without authorization
Ambush Marketing
  • When a company markets in a way to connect their product, service, or advertisement to a brand without having permission
